Should I Replace my Fluorescent Lights?

Should I replace my fluorescent lights? Is a question many businesses and home owners ask. If you are looking at the long term investment the answer is yes! There are 3 different option when replacing fluorescent lights and i will go over each below.

Option 1:Replacing the whole fixture with LED

Replacing the whole fixture is usually the most costly method when replacing fluorescent fixtures, but is usually the best looking and most cost savings year over year. With newer LED models weather its an edge lit panel installed into drop ceiling or an LED fixture hung off a chain you get better light output in a smaller package!

Option 2:Replacing the Bulbs with Type A LED bulbs

Replacement of just the fluorescent bulbs (T8 and some T12) with Type A LED blubs. This option is usually the most cost effective labor and material wise as its a straight replacement as long as the current fluorescent ballasts are in working condition.

Option 3:Replacing the Bulbs with Type B LED bulbs and removing the florescent ballast

Removal of the fluorescent ballast and replacement of the bulbs with type B LED bulbs is the lowest cost long term and the least impact to the customer. They can reuse their existing fixtures and just replace the bulbs once they burn out saving a lot of costs energy and maintenance wise in the future!

All options 3 are great for saving you money , whichever one you choose will give you a great return on investment. If you have any further questions or want info on rebates through Efficiency Manitoba send us a message and one of our Red Seal Electricians will reach out!
